Where are they now?
Gregor McKelvie 1998 - 2003

First of all, who am I? I could say Gregor or Groger, but that won’t mean anything to anyone, so I’m better off saying I’m Scot McKelvie’s brother. Secondly, where am I? Prague - although I never landed here from Scotland. In fact, I was that scared of Jimmy Auld that I headed to the other side of the world - New Zealand. Yes, there is only so much of “bird-brain”, “you’re shit” and “a dead monkey can swim faster than you” a man can take! I’m teaching English now in Prague, something that I am only slightly better at than swimming – and for those that know me, yes I’m crap at this too!

All joking aside, I had a great time at Nomads when I was there (1998-2003, although it feels longer!). No one could ask for better people to swim with and, more importantly (to me anyway and maybe Gillian, and then maybe Paul Tyler, and then again maybe Teazy!), to drink with. Christmas nights out and a certain member’s thirtieth birthday at The Cabin, all stick in my memory as successful drinking nights – after 5 years of Nomads I can’t remember me ever having a successful swimming night! Being part of the Jimmy and Bobby’s “good cop bad cop” act was also a pleasure, that maybe one day I might have again. Until then, I hope everyone, old members and new members, have a great time at the 30th. Have a drink on me.

Gregor
