Jimmy

Head Coach Jimmy Auld

It was Jimmy who founded the club in 1974 and he has been an inspirational figure to the present day. You know you've really been training when you've done one of Jimmy's sessions. Not only is Jimmy's extensive knowledge of swimming without measure, he also offers vocal support and has become legendary for his throwaway lines, most of which are unrepeatable in a public domain such as this.

Among the Jimmy-isms we can print are "Happy thoughts birdbrain" (directed at Gillian and the front splash on our 25th anniversary T shirts), "Eyeballs out" (this always precedes the last of a set of sprints) and "You're a shower of useless ..." (like I say, unrepeatable in a public domain such as this).

 

BobbyBobby Cuthbertson

Bobby assists Jimmy on a Wednesday these days, having previously been the main man on a Monday as well as sacrificing many a Friday just to shout at all of us. Bobby also does an enormous amount behind the scenes to make sure we all stay registered and informed about up and coming meets, as well as liaising with pool staff to make sure we keep our lets. As if this wasn't enough, Bobby still does a bit of training and prints our amazing club magazine, the Stickleback.
